About Us

Target archery on the North Shore began around the 1950’s, initially with Bays Archery Club in Mairangi Bay, where founding member of Shore Archery, Ken Leyman, first discovered archery. When Bays Archery closed in the 1960’s, Ken led a group that established Shore Archery Club near the grounds of the North Shore Event Centre. The club moved to its present ground in the 1980’s.

Today, Shore Archery is the longest serving target archery club on the North Shore, supporting compound, recurve and longbow archers of varying ages from 10 years old through to 80 years young.

Shore Archery is a member of the Auckland District Archery Association (ADAA) and Archery New Zealand

New members are always welcome!
