Hi all, Shore Archery has its Annual General Meeting this year on the 23rd August at 11.30am at the clubroom on Argus place (the normal clubroom that is).  We are asking you all to attend.  My apologies, I originally sent out the AGM date as the 30th August.  The date has now been amended to the 23rd August.

Why is this important??

Committee Election

You will get the opportunity to nominate and elect the following key committee roles.  These are the people who you elect to take care of the club’s future direction and day to day management.  You can nominate anyone and vote on the following roles:

 

President – Responsible for the strategic direction and general management of the club

Vice President – A key support person for the President

Secretary – Responsible for the communications and administration of the club

Treasurer – Responsible for all the financial transactions of the club, including membership fees and cards

Club Captain – Responsible to leading senior shooters, and promoting the clubs participation and support of the sport within the archery community

 

Junior Co-ordinator – Responsible for leading the juniors and key person for organising and running the Sunday morning shoots

Events Manager – Responsible for co-ordinating and running events for local and national levels (Mostly Auckland District)

 

Set Annual Subsidies

You will be asked to vote on the annual subscription fees for membership. The fees outlined below have been suggested by the committee:

Senior: $130

Senior Citizen(65+):  $80

Junior: $90

Associate: $90

Non-Shooting: $30

Prorated Senior(New membership Only, 6 months): $70

Prorated Junior(New membership Only, 6 months): $50

Family Bundle: 1st Adult $130, 2nd Adult $97.5, Child $60

 

Your Voice

You will have the opportunity to have your say around anything you would like to raise with the committee.  We don’t often get feedback, so would encourage your input.

 

Duration

We expect the meeting to last about 45mins.  There will be an opening address from the current president, Dennis.  Then we will hear from the Treasurer about our financial status and membership activity. We will also hear from our Club Captain – Jignesh. We’ll then vote on the key executive roles within the committee, set the annual membership fees, then hold a nomination/election of the remaining committee, then open the floor for any questions.

 

The holding of an Annual General Meeting is a legal requirement for any club, and must be lodged with the Incorporated Societies.  We require a quorum of 15 voting members (paying members 15 yrs and above) Please offer your attendance.
