If you ever thought of putting your hand up to be involved on the committee, these are the roles that exist presently:

 

The Executive:

  • President. The President shall preside at Annual General Meetings and all Special and Extraordinary meetings of the Club and shall preside over meetings of the Executive and the Committee. The President shall furnish a full report on the activities of the Club over the previous 12 months to the Annual General Meeting.
  • Vice President. The Vice President shall be required to assist and, as necessary, deputise for the President.
  • Secretary. The Secretary shall keep a correct record of all correspondence, meetings and notices of meetings. The Secretary shall keep a copy of the Club membership register and in general, carry out the instructions of the Executive and the Committee. The Secretary shall be a member of all committees of the Club.
  • Treasurer. The Treasurer shall receive all monies due to the Club, duly bank the same in the bank named by the Executive and issue receipts, and shall sign all cheques and other negotiable instruments or withdrawal slips on the Club’s banking account(s) jointly with such other Officers of the Club as designated by the Executive. The Treasurer shall keep proper books of the account, producing them and all other documents that may be held when required to do so by the Committee or the Auditor. The Treasurer shall maintain a register of all Club members.
  • Club Captain. The Club Captain shall ensure that proper records are kept of all range activities, trophies and equipment of the Club. The Club Captain shall coordinate the selection of Club teams and be responsible for the conduct of all Club archery activities and shall furnish a full report on the archery activities of the Club over the previous 12 months to the Annual General Meeting.

 

Other Committee Roles:

  • The Assistant Club Captain shall assist the Club Captain in whatever duty required by the Club Captain, manage the day to day running of the Club in the absence of the Club Captain, and perform other such duties as required by the Club Captain and the Committee.Assistant Club Captain. The Assistant Club Captain shall be required to assist the Club Captain in all matters relating to archery and may from time to time be required to deputise for the Captain.
  • The J.A.M.A. Coordinator shall take charge of all junior activities within the Club, manage the duties required by the J.A.M.A. commission for running a J.A.M.A. programme at the Club and perform other such duties as required by the Committee.
  • The Junior Representative on the Committee shall voice the opinions of the Junior members of the Club and vote in their interests, be available for contact with the Junior members of the Club, assist the J.A.M.A. coordinator where required in the running of Junior events,  provide assistance elsewhere if required, and perform other such duties as required by the Committee. Note: A Junior rep needs to be 15 in order to vote on matters at meetings.
  • The Records Keeper shall take charge of all scores shot at the Club, return scoresheets to archers after completion of shoots, maintain an accurate list of Club records, distribute and keep details of all claims by archers, and perform any other such duties as required by the Club.
  • The Social Events coordinator shall organise social events for the club membership with the intention of fostering club spirit.
  • The Webmaster will maintain the Shore Archery website and advise on all IT matters relating to the Club. If this expertise is not found in the body of the membership this role may be assigned to an outside provider.
  • The Funding and Grants coordinator is responsible for applying for and obtaining grants to assist the Club in its objectives.
